Cloudflare is a free Anycast DNS and CDN provider which was established in 2009. It has consistently remained in the top three fastest managed DNS services across several months.
Cloudflare was publicly launched in 2010 and has grown significantly since then. Being an Anycast service, Cloudflare automatically routes your requests to the nearest name server. So you never lose speed becuase of the distance between the servers. It has 23 points of presence across the world. The DNS speed of Cloudflare has been around 5 ms which shows that the company has made significant efforts to speed up DNS lookups.
CloudFlare offers a content delivery network (CDN) service in addition to free usage of its name servers. According to a report by NetCraft, CloudFlare is currently used on more than 235,000 websites.
